Bandcamp: http://shop.rachelflowers.com Bertie Tozer: A stunning album you are one of the best composer’s & keyboard players on the planet at the moment. I love the track Goes To Eleven. Keep making amazing music you are very good at it.
zoundsic: Stunning musician, gifted writer, those harmony’s leave me breathless. Listen is like a drug Favorite track: Aloha, Part 2.
Miles Davis: This is an outstanding album. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I got it, and was really surprised (very happily I add) There’s a lot of jazz in there. Dawn Points literally screams Sketches Of Spain! This is a good thing 🙂 Goes to Eleven has some great guitar work. Overall a real mixture demonstrating a true mastery of music Favorite track: Goes To Eleven.
Phil Chadwick: A great debut Rachel, loving every minute of it. Favorite track: Goes To Eleven.

Rachel is an amazing young talent who brings a multitude of influences, far beyond her 23 years, to her own music. This album is a perfect sample of her genius that spans many different musical genres. I have had the pleasure of seeing Rachel perform several times now and I am still astounded by this great collection of original music here on her first release. Download it now. You will not be disappointed.
This is an Amazing Recording
by Weatherscapes
Rachel has already established her credentials as a virtuosic pianist by performing a number of Emerson, Lake and Palmer pieces (along with some other works by iconic musicians) and subsequently, posted them on YouTube. On her first album entitled, “Listen”, Rachel presents her original music in a variety of styles but a nice jazz fusion-esque influence seems to pervade the recording. The songwriting is quite competent and the performances are balanced nicely between the graceful, mellow sections and the virtuosic. In other words, you don’t hear endless noodling but the amazing solos occur when appropriate. This is a stunning first release by an inspiring young lady.

ProgMusician: Just listened to “Goes to Eleven”… it’s been a long time since I enjoyed a piece in this way. In places it made me think of Jeff Beck’s Diamond Dust off of Blow by Blow (composition and arrangement wise)… which is no small compliment. Music isn’t dead folks. She is showing us what she hears from her influences.. and it is grand. In fact a lot of what was wonderful about the 70s I find present here. Very organic, but at the same time reaching all over the place in an inspired way. Deep. She is such a surprising and unexpected source for a gem like this. I hope she becomes a revolution! I’m buying !! Viva la Rachael !!!
Mark Newman: Even though he wasn’t among those name-checked (Claude Debussy, Jaco Pastorius, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Esperanza Spalding, George Cables and Taylor Eigsti), the first couple minute of the opening track brought to mind Pat Metheny. And that’s meant as a compliment.
flowerking: Its an amazing piece of work. I’m very impressed by the depth in the compositions and of course her performance is excellent. Its not overtly prog but prog infuses the whole thing as does jazz/jazz fusion. I think just about everyone who reads PE will enjoy it. Highly recommend you buy it.
Jubal: Dawn Points is a stunningly beautiful soundtrack. Very spacious and flowing. Run For Miles has a very aggressive Pat Metheny flow to it as well. The trumpet (keyboard) solo is amazingly realistic. I had to check the credits to make sure that wasn’t a real trumpet. I’ve never heard a keyboard voice capture true brass timbre that accurately. There are numerous time signature changes here as well. I can’t think of another artist with this much compositional depth and maturity on their debut album.
BobM: What is incredible to me is that these are symphonic works, and she plays all the parts herself, on various instruments. Of course there are a few that use a full symphony, but most are synth’ed, plus flute, guitar and bass. Quite sophisticated compositions IMO. Very beautiful with great textures and dynamics.
Jubal: I’ve heard it twice all the way through. I am amazed at the maturity of the compositions, and to think this whole album was completely performed by, arranged and produced by one person is mind boggling. This is an amazing piece of sonic art.
Jim Kashner says: Wow, Rachel … “Listen” is nothing short of a masterpiece. I love the entire eclectic collection on your debut album. I am impressed and moved beyond words.
I had very high expectations for your first CD release, and you did not disappoint in any way whatsoever. Your composition, performance, and orchestration on all of your tracks on “Listen” are absolutely magnificent.
(just purchased the CD version from Bandcamp, and have listened to all of the tracks from the “while you wait for your CD” download)
Phil Chadwick says: This is a wonderful CD Rachel. I was expecting something pretty good, hoping for something really good, and you have gone and delivered something exceptional. Thank you.
Gary Scott says: After receiving my copy of Rachel’s new album, it left me speechless. I have not heard such amazing compositions since the days of ELP. Rachel is a rare talent, with true soul. The world will know who you are soon, as true talent will always be discovered. Good luck Rachel. Greg Lake and Keith Emerson would be very proud of you.
Best wishes,
Gary Scott.
IAN COYNE says: Been knocked out by what I’ve heard today, I only discovered your music a few hours ago and you play beautifully and I love your sensibility to the music. I’d buy you a Roli Seaboard if I had the money after hearing your Satriani cover on the keys, but your an amazing guitarist as well I find so nothings holding you back anyway. I’ll just have to buy your music instead. It’s been a pleasure to find your work. it’s very special to me already.
“She knows the world of music in the deepest way possible… For me, when I watch her play, it reminds me just why music is so powerful.” – Dweezil Zappa
“… this girl just personifies pure music for me.” – Marc Bonilla (guitarist, Keith Emerson Band)
“Rachel Flowers is practically a household name in Ventura County. The gifted multi-instrumentalist, who is also blind, has been on the cover of this very paper, has had a legitimate documentary film, “Hearing Is Believing”, made about her, and has appeared at a host of events. Even at a young age, she’s certainly an inspiration as to what one can achieve. But what about the actual music? Good news is, Flowers is first and foremost a composer and musician, and a damn good one at that. Playing all the instruments on her debut release, Flowers’ tastes are clearly eclectic, bouncing from near-classical ready-for-film compositions to flat-out jazz funk. It’s so diverse that within one of her instrumental songs — pieces that range from three minutes to 10 minutes — you can hear multiple genres. “Dawn Points” and “Memories of You” literally sound as if they could be part of a movie score for a feature film, while “Goes to Eleven” and “Aloha Part 2” would fit on the main stage at any major jazz festival. There are also more instruments happening than you can name, all of which are played by Flowers. So believe the hype. Rachel Flowers is a rare talent. If “Listen” is only the beginning of her recording career, it’s going to be fascinating to see where it leads.” – Chris Jay – VC REPORTER 4.12.17
“What a great CD. Impossible to classify. Classical, Jazz, Progressive? Rachel is so fantastically talented. I would recommend this CD to anyone.”

Get on board the Rachel train now because it’s going to be rolling fast & for a long time.”

“You really need to listen to this beautiful, jazzy, high-spirited masterwork. All instruments are played by Rachel. Is that really her on drums or Phil Collins himself?
Wow! Simply amazing piece of work. Please, give her a listen.”
